    Mayor Hugh "Bubba" Hodge

    I moved to Darien in 1986, after marrying Marcia, my wife. I have two daughters and one grandson. I am the Lt. Governor for the Georgia District Optimist Club, served Darien as Councilman for the 2003-05 term and Darien/McIntosh County as volunteer firefighter/ Medical 1st Responder since 1987. A 1984 graduate of Brantley High School, I've taken courses at Brewton-Parker and Coastal Georgia Community colleges and earned an OSHA Health & Safety Manager's Degree from OSHA Academy/Georgia Tech. Honorably discharged from the U.S. Army/ARNG, I am experienced in Law Enforcement; Home Health and Industrial Management. I am a member of the Church of Christ.

    My name is Barbara J. Shaw. I am a native of Boston, Mass. I have four children and four grandchildren. I moved to Georgia in 1995 and married Freddie Shaw. I am an ordained Minister of the Gospel, and a graduate of the Global University Bream School of the Bible, Springfield, Mo. My hobbies include teaching, helping people and bike riding. I teach Bible courses at First African Baptist Church, Darien. I also teach young girls Praise Dance and etiquette. I am happy to serve the Council in Darien.

    Councilman John Cox

    I was born and raised in Brunswick, graduating from Brunswick High School in 1976. I married my wife Nancy in 1982 and we moved to Darien in 1987. I have worked in the construction industry most of my life, specializing in electrical installation and inspection. I am employed by Glynn County, where I have worked as an electrical inspector for the past 13 years. I have served as the Chairman of the Darien Planning and Zoning Board and as Mayor. I am also on the Deacon Board of the First Baptist Church of Darien, where Nancy and I consider ourselves privileged to serve the Lord.

    Councilman Griffin Lotson

    Griffin was born in McIntosh County, Ga. He is a graduate of McIntosh Academy in the City of Darien, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from LaSalle University, La. He is a member of Sams Memorial New Birth Church of God In Christ. Griffin, a businessman and chief executive officer, served as a national White House consultant on faith-based and community programs and is a national board member of the Gullah Geechee Heritage Corridor Commission. Griffin was also voted national award winner as a top rural leader of America by the NCRC (National Reinvestment Coalition) in Washington DC. Griffin is married to Carolyn.
