Independence Day 2008 Ceremony

Darien, GA: The City of Darien invites the public to an Independence Day flag-raising ceremony on Friday, July 4th at 9:00 a.m. in front of the City Hall, 106 Washington Street, in Darien.

 

A flag that was flown over U.S. Military Camp Cedar II in An Nasiriyah, Iraq, in honor of Darien and its Mayor Kelly Spratt, will be raised to honor the brave men and women who have kept our nation free for the last 232 years.


Veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms or military decorations; and the public is asked to wear red, white and blue colors to help celebrate America’s Birthday.
